The post holder will liaise with the medical team and appointments department to arrange, cancel or alter clinical commitments to contribute to the smooth running of the department. Will be responsible for communicating information, both written and verbal, with patients, staff and carers requiring tact and diplomacy. The post holder will also be responsible for handling telephone and other communications with sensitivity and confidentiality using personal judgement and acquired knowledge to assess each situation and to deal with accordingly. Will be expected to maintain good working relationships and work as an effective team member, to ensure their own work is of a high standard and to share the day to day workload of the Specialty Team.The post holder will be required to demonstrate new duties to new starters. The post holder will need to be able to support the implementation of office and secretarial practices to continually improve service delivery..
